I Lean on You

I have nothing, oh God, that I could offer you. Without you, oh God, I have nothing. I am hopeless, useless, restless, wandering here and there, trying to figure things out alone. Without you, I have nothing. What can I give you, oh God? Far from that, I have nothing. What shall I offer you? Can I say I give you all of me? Really, you know I have nothing. So what can I give you? What does that all mean? Nothing. I don’t know.

I’m here. I am, oh God. I have not turned away from you. I have not forgotten you. Wonderful words in my life. I don’t know. With what purpose have you sent me into this? I don’t know. I just don’t know. I come back to you, though I don’t know exactly why, but I feel the same inside me. I see that restless spirit inside me, running around.

Can I come to you, God? Here I am. I’m recording this right now. I don’t know a lot. What purpose do you have? Why did you send me this? What do you want to achieve? What can I offer that could make you happy? There is nothing good in me. There is nothing, Lord. You hold my love. You carry my life. You have everything.

I don’t know what I am asking right now. What am I even talking about? I just feel empty. I feel the pull of temptation around me. Oh God, create in me a clean heart. Wash my heart, my body, my eyes, even the parts of me where I don’t know what things are attached. I just turn to you. I turn to you. I look to you. I ask for help.

I know you are a mighty God. You see what I cannot see. You go before me, making a way. You prepare a table before me. I know that you are my Shepherd. You are my God. You have a beautiful plan, which I don’t know. That’s why I feel really lost sometimes. I don’t know.

I’m here, Lord. I just wanted to talk to you. Oh my God, my God, I give it, I surrender my life. I am this body. This is my mind, my heart, that always seems to be in trouble. It’s always in trouble.

I don’t know what keeps it so busy, maybe it’s my youthfulness, I don’t know. All throughout the day I see it. Is it in trouble? It’s fighting some kind of battle, and I just don’t know what I can do. Nothing. That’s why I come to you. I give my heart to you, with your love, with your life, your strength. God, I have no strength. I don’t know.

Thank you. I know you are my God. I see the life. I see it pouring over me, even how, I don’t know. I just remember all those words, those thoughts that came, that happened throughout the day, and Lord, I kind of end up feeling, I don’t know, prideful, or maybe very stupid. But I turn to you, make me wise. You know I would never see myself as a wise man. I am nothing without you. There’s no wisdom in me at all. That’s why I turn to you.

Lead me, oh God. Take me, hold my hand. My spirit, it is restless. It is fighting. My heart is in trouble. My mind is constantly running, overwhelmed with thoughts. But Lord God, you are the mighty wonder. Oh my God, I look up to you. I turn to you. I lean on you. I lean on you. Oh my God, my God, my God.
