Many are my foes, but I look to the Lord.
It is hard for me to know their secret plans.
They devise destructive plans and lay their plots and nets before me,
but I look to the Lord, for he is my shield and my strength. He protects me from every evil way. Sin cannot come near me,
for the Lord, the Holy God, is within me, with me, and around me.
I see the attacks coming, east and west, north and south, everywhere. Whether I turn to the left or to the right, I see the enemy’s deceptive plans laid before me. But I look to the Lord. I cry out for help to the Lord.
He is not far from me. He is right here. He comes from heaven down to earth to save me, to protect me, to guide me,
as I call on the name of the Lord. I wait, I expectantly wait, for his help.
While I’m waiting, I will be praising. While I’m waiting, I will be worshiping.
The Lord is my shield, my rock, and my defender.
He sets me free from every bondage of the sins and shields me with the robe of love and holiness, so that the enemy cannot find where I am.
For the Lord God is my God, who goes before me. He is my Shepherd. He leads me through the green pasture. I thank the Lord day and night, morning and evening. As I wake and as I lay down on my bed, I thank the Lord, for he is worthy, for he has done wonderful works and deeds in my life.
